1909 Postcard - The artist is Ellen Clapsaddle (1865-1934), an American illustrator and commercial artist from the turn of the century. She was one of the most prolific and collectible postcard artists from the Golden Age of Postcards (1898-1915). Ellen was born near Columbia, New York and studied at Cooper Institute in New York City. Her vintage postcards of children are among the most desirable on the market today.
