"The Scabious Fairy" by Cicely Baker (1895-1973). Cicely Baker was born in Croydon, England. She enrolled at Croydon Art Society at the age of 13 and was elected a life member three years later at the age of 16. Cicely was the illustrator who created the famous Flowers and Trees Fairies. She was influenced by the works of the works of the English Pre-Raphaelite artists in general, and by Kate Greenaway in particular.
