We are Jack and Susan Davis, owners of Olde America Antiques in Bozeman, Montana. Our two helpers and companions are Punkin and Sweet Pea. Punkin is a rare apricot-colored male pug and Sweet Pea is a beautiful silver and fawn-colored female pug. Punkin and Sweet Pea are brother and sister. They go to work with us every day and keep us entertained. We live in the foothills outside of Bozeman and have many different animals visit our neighborhood. Sweet Pea, who weighs 22 pounds, chased a 1,200 pound moose out of our yard this fall. Punkin, who weighs 34 pounds, turned and ran as fast as he could back to the house when he saw the moose. We will be safe and sound as long as Sweet Pea is there to protect us.
Susan and I have been involved in antiques since we were married in 1978. We specialize in antique postcards, paper and ephemera. Susan began collecting Yellowstone Park antiques when she was in high school in the 1960s. Her collection grew over the years to become the largest private Yellowstone Park collection with more than 20,000 pieces. In 2001 Susan's Yellowstone Park collection went to the park's archives through our donations and the support of the Yellowstone Park Foundation. We continue to work with the park as consultants to enhance and improve their collections. We are members of the International Federation of Postcard Dealers and have participated in numerous postcard, paper, and antique shows throughout the country. Our collection of vintage images exceeds 25,000 antique postcards, photographs, trade cards, posters, prints, calendars, seed packets, catalogs, magazines, brochures, covers, advertising, and miscellaneous ephemera. We are continually acquiring new items for our collection and add new images to this web site each month as time permits. Susan and I established Olde America Antiques in 1988. We were among the first to began experimenting to develop fine art giclee printing on cloth for quilters. Susan is a long time quilter and we always wanted to reproduce images from our collection onto cloth. However, the technology, and the high-quality cloth necessary to produce 8-color giclee prints on cloth, were not fully developed and available until the spring of 2006. Giclee (zhee-CLAY) printing is a recently developed printing process that utilizes high resolution digital scanning and new, sophisticated inkjet technology to reproduce detailed, accurate images and artwork. The inks used are archival quality, resulting in colors that are brighter and longer lasting than prints made by traditional printing methods. The colors we are able to produce on cloth are bright and vibrant and the image reproduction is excellent. We use the latest computer and software technology to create the finest quality cloth prints possible. The cloth we use is 100% cotton sateen that is soft and easy to quilt. The quilt blocks we produce are among the very best on the market today. Our quilt blocks are READY-TO-SEW. They are NOT TRANSFERS. The quilt blocks we produce are on a new generation of cotton fabric. The old transfer process resulted in hard and brittle quilt blocks that were virtually impossible to quilt through. The old transfers were labor intensive and difficult to work with. Our quilt blocks are easy to work with, and the overall quality and color reproduction is vastly superior to the older transfers. The images we offer for sale are from our personal collection and date from the 1870s through the 1940s. One of the categories we specialize in is National Parks and Monuments. We also have a wide range of other categories to choose from, including Sewing and Quilting images, Holidays, Western, Fairies, Flowers, Vegetables, Children, Animals, State and Local Views and many others. We add new images and categories to our inventory each month as time permits. If you have special requests for particular subjects or views please let us know. We will be glad to work with you to provide you with the antique images you are interested in. We are serious antique collectors and strive to produce the highest quality and most collectible quilt blocks possible. We love the old vintage images and enjoy sharing our personal collection with others. We look forward to working with you and serving you any way we can. You are welcome to contact us with any requests or questions . Thank you, Jack and Susan Davis
